Palestinian - Israeli agreement to be endorsed today in Sharm

Following her talks with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in Gaza and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in Jerusalem, US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright announced that the Palestinians and Israelis have reached an understanding on the implementation of the Wye River accord.
In a press conference in Gaza yesterday, both Arafat and Albright said the new memorandum of understanding would be endorsed today in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
In the same context, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received a phone call from Arafat and Albright, in which both of them briefed Mubarak on the outcomes of the negotiations that took place between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority.
In a joint press conference yesterday with Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy, Madeleine Albright confirmed that the agreement is ready for signing and that this will happen today. She said that the United States and Egypt have only provided "some assistance." "The United States is playing the role that is deemed useful by both parties," she said, adding, "The parties themselves are the ones that have written this agreement and I was there basically in the role of a facilitator."
Meanwhile, the Palestinian minister of planning and international cooperation announced that the two sides have reached to an agreement on the note of the timetable program for implementing the transitional accords and negotiations of final situation, adding that the agreement would be signed tonight.
