El-Bashir to confer with Afwerki in Doha soon
Sudan-Eritrea, Politics, 9/4/1999

Sudanese sources stated that Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir is due to confer with Eriterian President Issias Afwerki in Doha soon, to follow up on the implementation of the accord signed between them under the patronage of Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.

Sources stated that the coming meeting will discuss the development of relations and political, and security issues between the two countries.

The Sudanese sources added that the two presidents would study the joint security committee between Sudan and Eritrea, which concluded its works last week in Kasla and that they would be informed of the report of the joint political committee, which is expected to hold its meeting in Khartoum at the end of the current week.

The sources said the Sudanese president will brief his Eritrean counterpart on the violations committed by Eritrea of the agreement signed between the two countries at the beginning of the current year.
