King Mohammed chairs religious ceremony
Morocco, Religion, 9/4/1999
King Mohammed VI chaired Friday a religious ceremony at the mausoleum of Moulay Iddriss I (789-792), founder of the first Muslim dynasty in Morocco, in the town of Zerhoun (120 km east of Rabat).
The ceremony was held in commemoration of the 40th day of the passing away last July 23 of the late King Hassan II.
The king was accompanied by the members of the royal family, his brother Prince Moulay Rachid, his three sisters -- princesses Lalla Meriem, Lalla Asma and Lalla Hasna -- and his nephews.
A ministerial delegation also accompanied the sovereign, who was enthroned on July 30.
