Poll: 86 percent will vote in referendum on Algerian civil reconciliation
Algeria, Politics, 9/2/1999
The results of an Algerian public poll conducted by the daily newspaper Al-Khabar found that 32% of the Algerian people criticized the handshake between Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on the margin of the funeral of King Hassan II in Morocco.
The results of the poll also said that about 86.1% of Algerians will vote in a referendum on the civilian reconciliation law on September 16.
An interesting result is that about 97.4% of women affirmed their concern with practicing their electoral right, while the proportion decreased to 75.4% among the students of secondary schools.
