Sudan, Economics, 9/2/1999
The International Monetary Fund has decided to lift the embargo on cooperating with Sudan following the progress made in implementing economic policies and governmental reforms in the country.
The IMF commission also decided that it may be possible to lift the suspension of Sudan's right to vote at the fund within one year under the condition that the Sudanese government continues implementing good economic policies and repaying debts.
Sudan owes US $1.3 billion to the IMF.
