43 countries in Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater

43 foreign and Arab states are taking part in the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater, which is starting today and will last for 11 days.

In addition, 56 groups are to participate in the festival, including 16 Arab groups.

Meanwhile, the festival this year, will honor 11 actors among which are George White from the USA, Juan Maria from Spain, Ramon Ghrifor from Chile, Philip Hyde from Britain, Christian Ronato from France, Mohamed Sobhi from Egypt, and Nakal El-Ashkar from Lebanon.

Egyptian writer and critic Fawzy Fahmy, head of the arts academy, will chair the festival, while the arbitration committee includes 11 members under the chairmanship of Khuong Okim from South Korea.

Moreover, a main symposium entitled "The Arabian Theater' will be established as part of the festival.

The shows are to be presented in 23 theaters in Cairo.
