Moroccan-Portuguese high commission meets next September
Morocco-Portugal, Economics, 8/31/1999

The Moroccan-Portuguese high commission will meet next September 6-7 in Tangiers (northern Morocco) to discuss partnership projects to bolster trade exchanges and economic cooperation.

The commission, to be held under the chairmanship of the two countries prime ministers, will also review past joint actions, the evolution of trade exchanges, investments and cooperation prospects in the fields of industry, tourism, agriculture, scientific research, and textiles.

The commission's latest session held in Lisbon in 1998 was crowned with the setting of a business council to enhance contacts between Moroccan and Portuguese entrepreneurs and increase investment flow between the two countries.

During the session, Portugal extended Morocco two loans worth $200 million for the purchase of Portuguese goods and the launching of partnership projects.
