New A.L. budget worth $26.5 million

The Arab League league will better focus its limited resources to produce results that will serve the Arab States' cause.

At the conclusion of its work at Arab League headquarters today, the AL's permanent committee for financial and administrative affairs decided that the total of next year's budget would be $26.5 million and promised the public administration for financial affairs to redistribute the items of the budget according to the priorities of the activities.

There will be prioritization and accountability in distributions of money that will lead to toward activities of good quality that will have positive outcomes for Arab joint work.

The AL's assistant secretary for financial and administrative affairs told ArabicNews.com that the financial committee exerted great efforts, adding that the committee has held meetings during the current year in which it concentrated on studying delays in distributions of sums and delays where there are no objections from members and presented a number of recommendations that will be presented along with the recommendations of the current meeting in the Arab League Council, which is to be held on September 12.

They will shed light upon the league's budget, and how to schedule the sums according to the perceptions and the timetables recommended by the committee.
