African FMA handles suggestions of modifying OAU charter next Monday

Libyan informed sources said that the African foreign ministers are going to meet on September 6 and 7 to prepare for the subjects to discussed by the African leaders during their meetings on September 8 and 9.

The foreign ministers' meetings are to concentrate on modifying the Organization of African Unity's charter after legal experts from Cote d'Ivoire Ghana, Libya, Sudan, and Tunisia completed the preparation of suggestions concerning these modifications during meetings held in Tripoli, the Libyan capital.

During these meetings, a group of suggestions was set up.

These suggestions are aimed at expanding the African movement and opening the way for it to achieve the unity of the continent. This African movement focuses on the maing points amid the suggestions of modifying the OAU charter by establishing a public work mechanism to enhance the African countries' moves toward unity, giving means for an African congress or parliament, and discussing the possibility of forming a military force to deal with any tensions or armed disputes.

The suggestions also deal with the possibility of establishing an African court of justice to settle African disputes by peaceful means and to work on coordination between regional organizations and entities inside the continent, as well as taking the necessary steps to increase trade exchange between the continent's countries and mutual coordination between the African countries concerning their dealings with the international blocs.
