Volume of German investments in Egypt worth $250 million

The volume of German investments in Egypt amounted to $250 million, according to official statistics from the German embassy in Cairo. The statistics also said that Germany is considered the second-largest exporter to Egypt after the USA. German exports to Egypt amounted to $1.4 billion 1998, in comparison to $1.1 billion in 1997, while Germany occupies the seventh place on the list of the countries importing from Egypt. Egyptian exports to Germany rose to $494 million in 1998 in comparison to $466 million in 1997.
