Mossad agent arrested in Lebanon
Lebanon, Judicial, 8/27/1999
Lebanese judge Rashid Muzher on Thursday released a memorandum of suspension against a lieutenant in the Lebanese army, Hussein Ali Oleyan, for spying for Israel in collaboration with his mother and wife.
Lebanese judicial sources said Oleyan had investigated due to accusations that had been addressed to him of contacting Israel and leaking security information pertaining to the positions of the Lebanese army, confiscating Lebanese resistance weapons in south Lebanon and giving information about the houses and offices of certain Lebanese resistance officials and what types of cars they use.
The Lebanese judicial sources added that the information conveyed by Oleyan to Israel had helped in assassinations of several Lebanese resistance leaders through exploding their cars or bombarding them from air or helicopters, and planting explosives on the roads they use.
The sources indicated that Oleyan admitted that he used to meet with officers in the Israeli intelligence, the Mossad, inside Israel, which he entered via Greece and Holland or through the crossing adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon.
The sources continued that Oleyan used to provide the Mossad with information from Lebanon via telecommunications means.
Judge Muzhir also released a note of arrest against Khadeija Morowah, the mother of Oleyan, who used to take to him equipment and money from the occupied part of south Lebanon. Another note of arrest was also released against Roula Hassan, Oleyan's wife, for taking part with her husband in the same criminal spying act.
