Moussa to take part in exceptional African summit in Libya

The Egyptian foreign minister for African affairs, Ibrahim Ali Hassan, said today that Foreign Minister Amr Moussa will head the Egyptian delegation to the meetings of the Organization of African Unity foreign ministers in the Libyan city of Syrte on September 6 - 7, in preparation for the fourth exceptional African summit, which is to be held on September 7 - 8, according to the call of Libya, approved by the OAU summit held in Algeria during July.
Hassan said the ambassadors' committee of the OAU, in cooperation with the organization's general trusteeship in Addis Ababa, is currently preparing for these meetings.
He added that the main goal behind this summit, focuses on activating the role of the OAU and that the demands of globalization require African stances that capitalize on the political, economic and social potentials of the continent.
