Sudanese FM calls on Washington change its policy toward Khartoum
Sudan-Libya-USA, Politics, 8/25/1999
Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael reconfirmed yesterday his country's commitment to the comprehensive ceasefire.
Othman Ismael added that Sudanese - US relations could be pushed forward if the US administration dealt with Khartoum seriously, saying that Washington should change the present atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Minister of Higher Education Ahmed Omer Ibrahim said Egypt totally supports Libya's efforts to achieve success in the Sudanese reconciliation process.
Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi confirmed the importance of achieving the national reconciliation in Sudan, in a statement to Sudanese television.
On the occasion of El-Fateh revolution in September Gaddafi said that what is currently important is that the Sudanese separatists meet to hold dialogues in the presence of Egypt and Libya to reconcile points of view and sponsoring the agreement.
Gaddafi added that the place where the dialogue conference is held is not important if national dialogue was achieved, saying it could be in Sudan, Egypt or Libya in the presence of Egypt and Libya, hoping the Sudanese separatists would reach an agreement.
Moreover, Gaddafi stressed that Egypt, Libya and Sudan are together in one trench.
