Moroccan efforts bring in three million tourists in 1998

Three million foreign tourists visited Morocco in 1998, bringing to the country over $ 1.6 billion against $ 1.3 billion posted in 1997.

Moroccan tourism minister, Hassan Sebbar, who released lately the figures, attributes this positive performance to the efforts made by the Moroccan tourism professionals and authorities for the promotion of the Moroccan destination and leisure products.

He said efforts geared towards improving services and expanding the country's accommodation capacity will continue to bring more foreign tourists and investments.

Tourism in Morocco employs about 600,000 persons.
