Mubarak receives head of US Congress veterans affairs committee

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received tonight in Alexandria US Senator Arlen Specter, the head of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by Osama El-Baz, the political advisor to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Egyptian sources said the meeting tackled the peace process and the situation in Iraq, adding that the Egyptian delegation informed the US delegation of Egypt's absolute opposition to the US policy applied on Iraq.

The sources added, "The US delegation was in agreement with Egypt's point of view toward the peace process in the Middle East and the importance of Israel's implementation of the Wye River accord."
