Egyptian - Iraqi economic communications

Adnan El-Hamidawi, head of the Iraqi industrial union stated that there are continuous communications and relations between the Egyptian Businessmen's Association under the chairmanship of Said El-Taweel, to activate investment and commercial relations among the investors in both countries.
He added that allowing the Arab and foreign companies to invest in Iraq through an affiliating committee to the planning organization was formed for this purpose.
Regarding the problems facing the investment and industrial sector as well as the private sector in Iraq due to the economic sanctions, El-Hamidawi indicated the existence of restrictions on imports and exports and the existence of hard currency that currently comes through the oil-for-food agreement, which foreign banks control.
