Libyan official confers with Russian ambassador

The assistant secretary for African affairs at the Libyan foreign relations department, Ali Abdul Salam al-Tureiki, met on Sunday in Tripoli with the Russian ambassador to Libya, Serge Bukim.

The Russian ambassador, during the meeting, expressed the great appreciation of the Russian leadership for the role played by Libya in settling African affairs and in working to end bloody conflicts in the continent and to consolidate African peace, security and stability.

The ambassador added that the Russian leadership is following up with great interest current preparations to convene the special African summit in Libya. He said that convening such a summit is an important event for the conference in order to eliminate tense areas in the continent.
