Syria-Turkey, Economics, 8/23/1999
Three Syrian cargo planes carrying urgent humanitarian aid left Damascus for Turkey on Sunday as a contribution from Syria to help the those who are suffering in the earthquake-struck areas in northwestern Turkey.
The 100-tonnes of aid include children's foodstuffs, serums, antibiotics, antibiotics, pills, cotton, blankets, tents and other Syrian-produced first aid materials. The aid cargo was accompanied by experienced medical teams.

In a similar statement, the Turkish ambassador in Damascus expressed gratitude to President al-Assad.
