Shaath criticizes Barak's policy for obstructing implementation of agreements
Palestine, Politics, 8/21/1999

Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nabeel Shaath criticized the positions of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and his policy which Shaath said is obstructing implementation of the signed agreements, especially the Wye River accord.

Shaath told Sawt al-Arab radio yesterday that Egyptian President Honsi Mubarak previously intervened and informed Barak of the Palestinians' desires, and Barak promised not to adjust or obstruct implementation of the agreement, but since Barak took office, he has started negotiating about what was previously agreed upon.

He added that Wye River accord is full of details and does not need an additional understanding note or more negotiations.
