Egyptian - Thai committee to meet in October

A high-powered delegation of businessmen and officials in different sectors in Thailand chaired by the Thai foreign minister is due to arrive in Cairo during the first half of October.

Thailand's delegation is to take part in the meetings of the Egyptian - Thail committee.

The Egyptian assistant foreign minister for Asian affairs, Nagy El-Ghatrifi, said an Egyptian - Thai business council would be formed, including a number of the two countries' businessmen.

During the joint committee's meeting, two agreements will be endorsed, one of them banning double taxation and the other one protecting investments.

Nagy added that the talks between the two sides would also tackle means of enhancing and encouraging trade and mutual investments.

Nagy, moreover, said the visit of the Thai delegation will be a chance to discuss means of increasing Egyptian exports to Thailand, as the trade balance between Egypt and Thailand records a large shortage in Thailand's advantage.
