Arab human rights organization hails pardon of prisoners in Bahrain
Bahrain, Politics, 8/20/1999
The emir of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa, received two messages of thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by Bahrain in the human rights area. The cables were sent by Jasem Abdul Aziz al-Qutami, the chairman of the Arab Organization for Human Rights and the organization's secretary general, Muhammad Faeq.
The two messages said these efforts "are highly appreciated and integrate with the remarkable position Bahrain reached in the area of human development."
The Arab human rights organization's two officials commended the pardon issued to a group of people who were "involved in security crimes against the society and other groups who were convicted in criminal cases," the Gulf News Agency reported.
