Local council elections in Iraq

Some ten million Iraqi citizens started today the voting operations to elect local councils in the country.
Officials in Baghdad said the Iraqi people will choose some 4,869 candidates out of 5,910 for the local council in some 1,473 balloting centers distributed in the capital, Baghdad, and in other Iraqi provinces.
The officials indicated that the voting operation will end at 8 p.m. today (Iraqi local time), and the results are expected to be announced tomorrow.
