Meeting of the ministerial council for Group of 15 concludes

Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili said the ministerial meeting of the Group of 15 developing countries, which concluded its works recently in the Indian city of Bangalore, said this meeting aimed at coordinating the stances among the developing countries before the third ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization to meet in the US city of Seattle in November.

Goweili added in a special interview wiht Sawt al-Arab yesterday after returning from India that the meeting, headed by Egypt, seeks to form a unified opinion toward the raised issues to reach balanced interests.

Answering a question regarding whether he considers GATT a danger or opportunity for the developing countries, Goweili said that GATT is considered a danger on different levels, confirming that these is no equality in the degree of commercial growth among the developing and developed countries.
