Nawal Moutawakkil, member of IAAF executive committee

Moroccan former olympic champ Nawal Moutawakkil has been elected member of the executive committee of the international athletics federation (IAAF) on Wednesday. Nawal Moutawakkil who served as Moroccan secretary of state for youth and sports had won the gold medal in the 400 m hurdles in Los Angeles in 1984.
The election took place during the federation's congress held in seville on the eve of the 7th world athletics championships slated this August 21-29.
Nawal Moutawakkil, who is also member of the IAAf council and of the International Olympic Committee, was elected by 137 votes out of a total of 196 votes.
