Arrangements for exceptional African summit discussed by Libya with Organization of African Unity

Omar El-Montaser, the secretary general of the general public committee for the external communications and Libyan international cooperation, held discussions yesterday with Ahmed Hagag, the assistant secretary general of the Organization of African Unity, who is currently visiting Libya.

The discussions tackled the current preparations for the exceptional African summit that will be held in Libya on September 6 - 9 to modify the OAU charter.

Hagag said the summit is considered a great opportunity for African heads of state to exchange opinions and consult regarding means of activating the African role in making a strong base for achieving African unity and that the summit will be a chance for continuation and reunion in ending the African conflicts and achieving peace and stability for the continent.
