Egypt's address to the UN by Moussa will address terrorism
Egypt-UN, Politics, 8/18/1999

Amr Moussa, the Egyptian foreign minister will deliver the Egyptian statement in the meetings of the 54th session of the UN General Assembly on September 25. The session will start in September and continue through the end of this year.

Ambassador Sayed Kassem El-Masry, the assistant foreign minister, said the most important theme that will be discussed in this session would be the proposal of President Mubarak to hold an international anti-terrorism summit.

He said the president's proposal is inserted on the UN agenda according to the decision of the African summit. He pointed out that that UN tackled the terrorism aspect in eight resolutions, but in light of this proposal Egypt calls for a comprehensive handling of terrorism.

Egypt said that the lack of a specific definition of terrorism doesn't obstruct the convening of the expected summit.

El-Masry said the General Assembly will discuss the Middle East peace process, clarifying that the time is still early to tackle this issue.
