Egyptian Minister of Industry Mohammed Soleiman Reda is heading on August 19 to Baghdad, heading a delegation of 50 Egyptian businessmen on a five-day visit to fulfill Baghdad's needs for some goods in the framework of the oil-for-food agreement. Jordan has fulfilled 74% of the Jordanian -Syrian Electricity Grid project. Eight soldiers were killed in Djibouti on Sunday in the crash of a helicopter that was taking them in the northern part of the country. AFP quoted a statement by the Djibouti Defense Ministry as saying that the helicopter from the Djibouti armed forces crashed for technical reasons near Eidalo in Tajourah district. The helicopter which was carrying five members and three soldiers from medical units in the armed forces was on a routine mission. Go

Israel Radio said on Sunday that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat intends to build a new casino in the Palestinian self-rule area, and in particular in Ramallah, in the West Bank. Israel Radio quoted Arafat as saying during his meeting with a group of businessmen and industry from Israel, Jordan and the Palestinians that the Palestinian Authority also intends to set up five industrial zones, one of which is in Tulkarem. Six persons were killed and another ten wounded in armed confrontations that took place during the past two days between an armed militia and Somali security forces. The security forces, which try to impose the law in the absence of a real government, were able to deter the attackers. Go

The US planes positioned at the Turkish Incirlik base have struck an Iraqi position 460 km north of the capital, Baghdad. A statement by the US European Command stationed in Germany said that US F-15 planes dropped laser-guided bombs against the Iraqi position to the north of Baghdad. Go

The spokesman of the Israeli army said today that Israel is lifting the siege imposed on Palestinian villages in the northern West Bank where a Jewish settler was attacked on August 10. Go
