Free medical care for foreigners canceled in Kuwait
Kuwait, Economics, 8/16/1999
Free medical care for foreign workers in Kuwait has been canceled, starting today.
Minister of Health Muhammad Ahmad Jarallah said in television statements today that foreigners must pay medical insurance fees that vary from 130 to 163 dollars.
Costs of medical examinations vary between 3 and 9 dollars per visit.
This procedures come within the Kuwaiti government's plan to handle the shortage in the general budget for the third consecutive year due to the decrease in petroleum revenues and profits from Kuwaiti investments abroad.
