A report on electricity cooperation between Syria, Jordan

Jordan has fulfilled 74% of the Jordanian -Syrian Electricity Grid project. Project directorates at the Jordanian Ministry of Planning prepared a report on the cost of the project amounting to US $75 million, including the establishment of a 400 kilovolt relay station to the north of the capital, Amman, and the setting up of a line of single circuit of alternating current, between the relay station to the north of Amman and the Syrian border at a length of 60 km.
This project is financed by the Jordanian side, the Arab Fund and the Jordanian treasury. It falls within the six-way grid project between Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq.
