King Abdullah II of Jordan on Sunday in Amman discussed with Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid the general Arab situations and inter-Arab relations in light of the developments taking place in the region.

During the meeting, the king stressed the importance of revitalizing common Arab works and strengthening inter-Arab relations in the service of the Arab states' causes. He also stressed the importance of revitalizing the Arab League mechanism and giving it the chance to play its due role in the international arenas and in representing the Arab states in various political and economic activities taking place in the Arab arena.

Abdul Meguid expressed his appreciation for the positive role played by the Jordanian monarch in enhancing ties of Arab cooperation and reuniting the Arab states.

Later in the day, the AL chief discussed with Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdah the current Arab conditions, their developments and means of backing the march of Arab solidarity.

During the meeting, the Jordanian prime minister indicated the efforts made by the AL chief to unify common Arab works against impeding challenges and to meet the ambitions of the Arab states.
