Iran, Turkey sign security agreement

The joint higher security committee between Iran and Turkey has concluded its sixth session on Friday in Ankara by signing a memorandum of understanding for security cooperation between the two countries.
On the Iranian side, the memorandum was signed by Iranian Deputy Minister of the Interior Ghulam Hussein Balandian, and the Turkish side was attended by Interior ministry secretary Yahya Gour. The Iranian news agency quoted the chairman of the Iranian delegation as saying that " the exchanged confidence, good neighborly relations and humanitarian consideration had prevailed the atmospheres in which the talks were held. The Turkish military establishment has to take measures to prevent the repetition of such incidents in order not to leave an adverse impact on the relations between the two countries.
He added that relations between Iran and Turkey will continue because the two countries share a common equilibrium. He said that according to the signed agreement, the seventh meeting of the joint security committee will be held next year in Tehran.
For his part, the chairman of the Turkish delegation, Yahya Gour, described results of talks with the Iranian side as useful. He said, "The two sides agreed on security cooperation and fighting acts of violence."
He added that Turkey gives wide interest to its relations with Iran and on this ground it told the Iranian side it will submit the results of its investigations on the recent border events.
