Saudi - Egyptian free trade zone

It was announced in Cairo on Thursday that meetings of the joint committee for bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia will meet in Cairo in the second half of September, under the chairmanship of Egyptian Foreign Minsiter Amr Moussa and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Saud al-Faisal.

An Egyptian diplomatic source said the committee will discuss in its coming session means of evaluating cooperation relations between the two states in political, economic and cultural areas and means of fostering them in the context of remarkable relations between the two states.

The Egyptian diplomatic source added that the committee will also discuss necessary measures to increase trade exchange and liberalize the flow of services and commodities between the two states and take steps necessary to establish a free trade area between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
