Lebanese resistance attacks SLA construction operation
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 8/13/1999

Lebanese security sources said that Israeli artillery bombarded on Thursday afternoon Habboush river course, while the Israeli tanks positioned in the Israeli position in Sweida attacked the outskirts of Arab Salim, using 105 artillery shells.

Israeli warplanes flew in the airspace of al-Nabatieh and the al-Tuffah district carrying out mock and provocative raids.

For its part, the Lebanese resistance on Wednesday night attacked a force for the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia in the surroundings of the Beer Klab position while carrying out fortification works. In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said its fighters used in their attacks machine guns and rockets a matter which prevented the enemy force from completing their works, and direct hits were made on its members.

Simultaneously, another Lebanese resistance group attacked the same position, and smoke was seen inside the position.

Meanwhile, some 16 citizens from the families of Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails on Thursday visited six of their relatives in Khiam camp in the occupied part of south Lebanon. The Lebanese citizens were transported by a coach from the International Committee of the Red Cross through Kafer Tabnit crossing.
