Egypt to hold national conference for childhood

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak and the head of the consultative technical committee of the national council for childhood and motherhood, is due to head the works of the first national conference for Egyptian children, organized by the council and to be held in November, in light of Egypt's celebrations of childhood feasts, entitled "By the end of the first decade for Egyptian child 98/99 and future views."
The general secretary of the council, Amina El-Gendy, said the conference is to be held on the occasion of the end of "the first decade for children" announced by President Mubarak, as the decade from 1989 to 1999 is the decade for the Egyptian child's protection, awarness and sponsoring and it coincides with the first ten years of establishing the council.
El-Gendy added that the conference will tackle, discuss and evaluate the achievements carried out in Egyptian children's services through the comprehensive national plan for upgrading the experience of childhood and motherhood, which was created in light of the state's general plan, as well as raising up models for experimental research projects and studies.
