US dismisses oil dumping claim

The US Department of Commerce yesterday dismissed a dumping claim on crude oil from Iraq, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Strong opposition from within the US oil industry played a key role in dismissal of the claim, raised by a group of independent companies known as Save Domestic Oil Inc. The Department of Commerce "determined not to initiate antidumping and countervailing duty investigations" on the four countries.
