Turkish Kurds seek ceasefire with Iraqi Kurds

The prohibited Turkish Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) announced that they are about to seek a ceasefire agreement with the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party, a statement released by the PKK representation bureau in Cairo said.
The statement added that the party is ready to implement this step on September 1, at the same time when the party intends to end its armed struggle to establish self-rule for the Kurds in southeast Turkey and withdraw to northern Iraq, in which the Kurds are prevented from the self-rule and under international protection.
