Syrian - Turkish tourism executive program signed

A ceremony was held in Ankara on Monday for the signing of the executive program of the fourth tourism meeting of the Syrian-Turkish committee. It was signed by Syrian Tourism Minister Danhou Daoud and his Turkish counterpart, Erkan Mumcu.
In its fourth meeting, the joint committee discussed ways of developing tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The Syrian minister expressed satisfaction over signing the cooperation program, stressing it would be a step forward toward enhancing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighbors. He said the two countries share common denominators of history, geography, good neighborliness, interests and elements of tourism attraction.
The minister stressed the common desire in the two countries to strengthen bilateral relations with a view to achieving mutual benefits.
The program included, among other things, ways of propagating tourism activities, exchanging expertise and groups and setting up tourism projects in terms of encouraging investors.
The two sides also agreed to hold the next committee meeting in Damascus during the second half of the year 2000.
