Moroccan Brahim Lahlafi wins 3,000 m at Koln meeting

Moroccan athlete Brahim Lahlafi won Sunday the 3000 m race held at the German Athletic Meet of Koln, part of the IAAF Grand Prix.
Lahlafi ran the distance in 7:33.32, beating out Kenyan star Daniel Komen and German Dieter Baumann.
Moroccan Salah El-Ghazi finished 4th in the 1,500 m race, won by Moroccan-born French national Driss Maazouzi clocking 3:38.20. Second place went to Kenyan Benjamin Kipkirui ahead of his countryman David Lelei.
On Saturday, Moroccan field and track star, Hicham El Guerrouj won the mile race at the London meeting clocking 3:47.79. El-Guerrouj, the 1,500 m and mile world record holder, has lowered by seven seconds the London mile record which was set by British Rob Harrison in 1986.
Moroccan woman runner Zahra Ouaziz captured the London's 5,000 m race advancing British Paula Radcliff and American Libbie Hickman.
