Erekat assures not accepting any delay concerning Wye River
Palestine, Politics, 8/9/1999

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said that Abu Ammar's (Arafat) declarations are not an agreement to modify the Wye River accord and what Palestinian President Yasser Arafat said is that he wants to start the accord's application as promised by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak at the end of August.

He added, "Arafat says the final countdown hour has started, and he urges Barak for the accurate, honest implementation of the agreements according to the timetable of the agreement." He said, "The Palestinian stance is stable, and we demand the actual implementation."

He said, "We made contacts with the U.S administration, the European Union, Egypt and many countries in the world in order to guarantee Israel's implementation on time, and we hope to reach application according to the specific timetable."
