Jordan-Israel, Politics, 8/6/1999
The spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Amman, Roui Jallaad, said that Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy will on Tuesday hold an official visit to Jordan.
Jalaad said Levy will meet with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh and Foreign Minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib and that he will discuss with them bilateral relations and matters relating to the peace process in the region.
Meanhile, the Israeli daily Maariv said on Wednesday said that Jordan has asked for a personal apology message signed by former Israeli intelligence chief Dany Yatom in order to permit him to visit Jordan after Jordan had officially accused him of direct responsibility for planning the failed assassination attempt against the chairman of the political bureau of the Hamas movement in Jordan, Khaled Mishal, in 1997.
