Italy to contribute to clearing Egyptian Sahara of mines

The Italian embassy in Cairo said that the Italian Ministry of Defense will positively contribute technically and financially in removing the existing mines from the Egyptian Sahara, which witnessed the military operations during World War II.
The statement added, "There are bilateral cooperation projects in the military field like industrialization and joint training in the framwork of implementing military cooperation between the two countries that were signed during the visit of Egyptian Minister of Defense Mohammed Hussein Tantawi in March."
