Iraq-UN, Politics, 8/5/1999

Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Said al-Sahaf said in an interview published today in Al-Ahram Weekly newspaper that deliberations taking place regarding having new relations between Iraq and the UN Security Council are nothing but an internal conflict among the council's permanent members, who are divided into two camps. Al-Sahaf said, Most of the suggestions adopted by the council are nothing but ideas aimed at converting Iraq to a protectorate.
