Mubarak to meet with Gaddafi today

Libyan leader MoammarGaddafi met at Marsa Matrouh today on the border between Egypt and Libya with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The talks are to tackle boost Egyptian - Libyan relations, the mediation efforts aimed at achieving the national reconciliation in Sudan, the Mideast peace process and the situation in the Great Lakes region in central Africa.

The talks, moreover, were to discuss the Libyan efforts exerted to restore Libyan relations with all countries to their nature, in addition to the studying of ways to increase trade exchange between Egypt and Libya and the best ways to begin implementation of joint projects between the two countries.

Gaddafi last visited Egypt in March, making this the first visit paid by Gaddafi to Egypt since the UN decided during April to suspend the international sanctions imposed on Libya since 1992.
