Ethiopia denies meeting with Somalis
Somalia-Ethiopia, Politics, 8/4/1999
A spokesman for the Ethiopian government on Tuesday denied that his country plans to hold any meeting soon with Hussein Muhammad Aided, one of the Somali leaders.
AFP said that Ethiopian official described statements to Makadishu papers announcing a meeting to be held on Thursday in the Libyan capital between Ethiopian officials and leaders of the Somali groups in order to discuss border problems as statements aimed at creating confusion in the international community and the Somali people, adding that these statements are mere rumors and are groundless.
Ethiopia and Somalia are exchanging accusations based on each side's adoption of opposition movements on the joint borders in the two countries.
