Egyptian minister of industry to visit Baghdad

Egyptian Minister of Industry Suleiman Reda is due to visit Baghdad on August 20, leading a delegation that includes 20 businessmen and heads of companies in the fields of food, engineering goods and automotive spare parts.
Reda and his Iraq counterpart are going to discuss the revival of the cooperation protocol in the domain of commerce and industry endorsed between the two states' industrial unions in May 1996, when an Egyptian economic delegation chaired by Mamdouh Thabet Meky, head of the industrial union, first visited Iraq.
This visit is considered the first visit for an Egyptian minister of industry since 1990.
Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed al-Goweili visited Baghdad on June 15, 1998, where the inaugurated a fair for Egyptian products with the participation of two companies, and Health Minister Ismael Salman visited Iraq in July 1998.
In return, Iraq Minister of Trade Mohammed Mahdi Saleh, Minister of Industry Adnan Abd al-Majid Jasim al-Ani and Minister of Petroleum Amer Rashid have visited Egypt.
Currently, Egypt is examining the possibility of supplying Iraqi factories with spare parts.
