Indyk: Syria halting activities of Palestinian opposition organizations

In declarations to the United Arab Emirates newspaper al-Khaleej, US Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs Martin Indyk said that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak will not be able to reach peace agreements with the Palestinians, Syria and Lebanon if terrorist activities continue.
He also viewed the success of negotiations as imposing a decrease in "terrorist" actions carried out by Hizbullah in Lebanon.
Indyk said that Damascus has demanded that Palestinian oppostion organizations residing in Syria halt their activities.
