Report: Former Algerian FM held talks with Israel

The Lebanese newspaper al-Mostakal reported yesterday that former Algerian Foreign Minister Taleb Ibrahim during the era of former President El-Shazely Ben Gadid was the first official who held talks with Israel in 1986-1988.
Obadieh Sofier, the former Israeli ambassador in France, told Israel Radio on Monday that between 1986 and 1988, former Algerian President El-Shazely Ben Gadid met several times with Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.
El-Mostakbal said that Algerian - Israeli contacts took place in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.
