Arafat urges Barak to implement Wye River accord
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/28/1999
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat called yesterday evening on Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to immediately implement the Wye River accord, considering the abidance of Palestinians with implementing all their commitments in signed accords, including security commitments, combating terrorism and violence either from Palestinian or Israel.
During their talks, Arafat called on Barak to stop all illegal settlement and destructive activities against the peace process and to resume negotiations on final status issues such as Jerusalem, borders, water and refugees.
Following the press conference held between Arafat and Barak at Erez, Arafat said the peace process and implementation of international decisions 338, 425, 242, would be concurrent along Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian tracks and that Israel would implement all segments of redeployment, releasing detainees, inaugurating a security passage and Gaza airport, as well as continuing the implementation of the El-Khalif Hebron protocol.
