Report: Sudan hands over one man accused in foiled assassination attempt against Mubarak to Egypt
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 7/28/1999
Foreign diplomatic sources in Cairo said on Monday that the Sudanese government has handed over in top secret way one of the persons who are accused of being involved in the foiled assassination attempt against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Addis Ababa in 1995.
The London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat (Middle East) daily quoted the sources as saying that the three countries concerned with the matter -- Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt -- have summoned their heads of diplomatic missions to make consultations, and the three countries are expected to take decisions described as important within the coming days that will be the grounds for future relations among themselves.
The same sources stated that the Sudanese government told Addis Ababa the secrets of the foiled assassination attempt, stressing that other persons accused of being involved in the attempt are not in Sudan.
