Habash holds Arafat responsible for crisis
Palestine, Politics, 7/28/1999

The secretary general of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine has held Palestinian President Yasser Arafat responsible for the current crisis resulting from the current policy he pursues and called for changing it.

In an exclusive statement to the BBC on Tuesday Habash ruled out holding a meeting with Arafat unless the Palestinian national charter is adopted as a common indicator among the various Palestinian organizations.

He stressed that a delegation from the people's front will shortly meet with officials from the Fatah movement to discuss the possibility of making a change in the movement's policy, and in light of that a meeting between him and Arafat might be held.
